These days, getting a professional blowout is as commonplace as getting your weekly manicure. We have Alli Webb, the founder of DryBar, to thank for this. She started doing blowouts in her home in 2008 and soon realized that this service — a simple, expertly done blowout — was exactly what women wanted. So she launched DryBar, which offers shampoo and styling, and now has over 56 locations in 11 states, and there are more in the works.

The "bar" concept behind DryBar is cute and clever. Styles are aptly named "The Straight Up" and "The Cosmo" after your favorite cocktails (we chose the Cosmo-Tai for our blowout). The hairdressers are called bartenders and offer you a beverage of choice upon sitting down for your appointment. And of course the DryBar products, which are exclusively used in each location, have theme names such as The Mai-Tai Spritzer (sea salt spray) and Triple Sec (a 3-in-1).

We were invited to the launch of DryBar’s River North location in Chicago for an exclusive interview with the brains behind the blowout. Watch the video to learn about Alli’s inspiration behind her business, her hairstyling tips and beauty items she never leaves home without. Plus, scroll down to shop our product picks!
