I just got this Ann Taylor sequin skirt, and it’s become my favorite piece in my closet. It’s part of the wedding collection and can easily be dressed up for a fancy affair. I love that I can also wear it on a random Wednesday afternoon in the city. I like to style it casually pairing with a simple blouse (shown here) or with my Madewell denim shirt. The first time I wore it, I got a gazillion compliments, so if you’re looking for an ego boost, this is the skirt for you.
It whooshes when you walk and will have people stopping you to tell you how fab it is.

I had teens in an elevator comment on how cute it is, a PR person at a work event gush over it and all of the sales women in Victoria’s Secret fussing over me because they wanted my outfit.

My only hesitation is that I wish it came in a size 0. Ann Taylor runs a bit big, and the smallest size it comes in is a 2. So, the fit isn’t perfect on me: the waist is roomier than I’d like, and the overall look is boxier than I would have chosen. It’s also worth mentioning that the teardrops can fall off pretty easily so you do have to treat the skirt with tender hands. All that said, I think it’s worth every cent.

It’s normally $275 and only available on the Ann Taylor website, but I got it for $165! The website was doing a promotion offering 40% off when you sign up to receive their emails. I love a deal!

What I’m wearing: Ann Taylor teardrop skirt / Broadway and Broome blouse / Delman flats / Flower lipstick in Dahlia Dahling / Jennifer Behr headband
