Maybelline just sent photos from its coveted 2012 limited edition calendar to beauty editors, and as soon as I opened the images, I had to share. All of the brand’s spokesmodels were photographed by Kenneth Willardt in NYC and were transformed by a dream team of creative talent including makeup artist Charlotte Willer, stylist Patricia Field and hair stylists Serge Normant and Stephane Lancien. The pics are inspiring and spectacular — just what i hope the New Year to be. Have a healthy and happy New Year!
If there’s ever an occasion screaming for sparkle, it’s New Years. Here’s my favorite glittery combo for nails or toes: one coat of Nails Inc. lacquer in Maddox Street topped with Nails Inc. 3D Glitter Polish in Sloane Square. It’s edgy, sophisticated and finishes off a little black holiday dress.
First it was a princess — now it’s a heroine. This year’s most coveted wedding dresses can be yours…
In the recently released The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Kristen Stewart’s character Bella walked down the aisle in a sleek, body-hugging number designed by Carolina Herrera. To many brides-to-be delight, the gorgeous satin gown has been recreated by designer Alfred Angelo to a tee. Sold on the designer’s website for $799, it has the same lace covered sleeves, cut-out illusion back with a Chantilly-inspired lace applique trim, fabric-covered buttons down the back, and chapel train.
Beyond the dress, there’s no room for error when it comes to makeup on your wedding day. It has to look pristine from the moment you walk down the aisle to the time the final song is played. Or, in the case of shooting the wedding scene, Stewart was able to keep her bridal look in tact with the help of Dr. Hauschka Moisturizing Day Cream. Her makeup artist dabbed it on her forehead, cheek bones and cheeks to keep her skin glowing.
Breaking Fashion News: Marni, one of my favorite designers, is creating a Spring collection for H&M! There will be clothes and accessories including shoes, bags, jewelry and scarves (I’m already salivating over the sandals) for men and women. Expect vivid colors and bold prints for the ladies and softer shades and prints as accents for the guys. The line will debut March 8, and I’m prediciting this collaboration will bring in the crowds and chaos like Missoni for Target did. So get online or in line early and be prepared to shop ’til you drop.
Here’s a sneak peek at the collection!
Few films resonate deeply with me. Like Crazy did. It’s a pure story about raw, young love. There are no cheesy romantic comedy bits or action-packed car chases. It’s simply a simple movie with soul told through the eyes of two budding actors — Anton Yelchin and Felicty Jones, a British actress who I think is the next “it” girl. She’s just been named the new face of Dolce&Gabbana The Make Up. Here she is all done up with makeup in the cosmetic company’s ad campaign (left). To the right is a photo of Felicity as her casual character Anna. Which look do you prefer?
A few months back, I revealed how you can plan a classy wedding at Costco. The retailer continues its relationship with the luxury market, and this go around is all about cashmere. Hint: cashmere is always an appreciated holiday gift.
The Italian fashion label Enzo Mantovani, known for their buttery sweaters, is being carried at select Costco locations at 75% off department store prices from now until Jan. 4. Or, you can shop the styles online at costco.com. The loot includes a variety of merino and cashmere tops, ranging from $59.99 to $159.99. Considering most cashmere sweaters start at $150, I think this is a great deal. In this photo, I’ve got on the black V-neck sweater ($119.99). It’s really comfy and has become my new winter staple. I just hope Rex doesn’t spit up on me every time I wear it!

Black Friday (Nov. 25th) and Cyber Monday (Nov. 28th) are just around the corner, so I rounded up some not-to-be-missed deals on everything from chocolates to cosmetics to clothes. There’s nothing better than scoring a good discount!
Godiva Chocolates: Black Friday specials will be in all of their US Boutiques & Outlets from open-noon.
They include: Holiday Milk Chocolate Cocoa – $5 (Regularly $8), 6pc Holiday Truffle Gift Box – $5 (Regularly $15)
16pc Holiday Chocolate Gift Box – $15 (Regularly $25)
I remember the days of playing Pretty Pretty Princess—whoever stacked up the most jewels by the end of the game was crowned the prettiest princess. Little girls and women alike find ways to ice anything and everything on their bodies. From our crowns and ears, to our necks and fingers, to even our Queen V’s, no area is left unfrosted. But unless you’re a queen, or a 4 year old playing Pretty Pretty Princess, wearing a tiara, 10 rings, 7 cuffs, 3 necklaces and a pair of earrings is just downright tacky. While Kim Kardashian drips herself in more diamonds in the pursuit of her fairytale ending, us common folk have the celebrity jewelry trend, “hand bracelets,” to keep our princess dreams satiated.
Stars including Katy Perry, Giuliana Rancic and Victoria Justice are adorning their palms with this statement piece by Prive Jewellery (pictured above right), which is a cross between a bracelet cuff and a tiara. And even this past week, Nicole Scherzinger wore an eye-catching hand bracelet on “X Factor.” Would you wear this trend? We want to know. Vote below! (posted by Cody)
I’d wear it! This accessory makes a cool fashion statement. (89 votes)
