For some time now, we’ve been testing out several different hand creams and here is another effective and affordable option we have to share. I used Curel’s Hand & Cuticle Therapy ($4.49) for three weeks and was really impressed with how well this lotion improved the look and texture of my hands. Containing Vitamin E, Soy Milk, and Monoi Oil, this cream not helps heal your skin, but simultaneously strengthens your nails. With one application in the morning, even after washing my hands, my skin remained moisturized and non-greasy. I was completely sold after seeing the visible change in my previously weak nails, which were prone to breaking. After just five days, my nails stopped splitting and the tops of my hands were no longer dry and itchy. It’s too bad I didn’t get my hands on this earlier in the winter season (literally!), but I’m thankful I have this in my arsenal for next year.

A Dry Skin Cure: One Balm, Endless Possibilities
Short of a magic beauty wand? No problem. Here are a few products that check all the boxes.
Liz Earle’s Super Balm Sure, it’s a bit of a splurge ($29), but this balm is a one-stop shop. It can be used anywhere from head to toe to soothe and hydrate. The texture of the balm is a little gritty, similar to a lip scrub, and is made with natural ingredients including Vitamin E, Rosehip Oil and Neroli Oil that give off a pretty strong, but not unpleasant, aroma. I used the Super Balm specifically to target my dry hair and noticed my frizz decrease too. Read More

LAQA & Co. — A Work of Art
I’m jaded. I’ve sent so many beauty products, it takes more than a shiny gold case to get me excited. While I do appreciate pretty packaging (what girl doesn’t. Tiffany blue is a legit color), I’m not a sucker for it. But then LAQA & Co. landed on my desk. The packaging was so cool, I wasn’t in a rush to open the nail polish pens and lip pencils. Each of the boxes feature the designs of new, up-and-coming young artists looking to have their voices heard. The goal is to help the artists get noticed, and they even get a cut of the profits. Love that! Here they are…

Trend To Try: Argan Oil
If you have split ends or dry skin or nails you should know about Argan oil. It comes from the plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree in Morocco. What you really need to know is that it’s a star moisturizer. You can buy it pure or you can find it as a key ingredient in many creams and conditioners. Drugstore and prestige brands are coming out with their own versions. Here are a couple worth knowing about:
To use, apply a few drops on your face, split ends, cuticles, cuts and scrapes, whatever needs a little extra TLC. We put a few droplets of the do-everything healers into our creams and moisturizers to give ‘em a little boost. The oils are organic and chemical-free—a skincare staple particularly for those who use strictly natural cosmetics.
