Finding “natural” deodorants that actually work can be quite the challenge. Here at The Beauty Girl, we’re all for being conscious of harsh chemicals and parabens in anti-perspirants, but not when it leaves us smelling like a gym sock at the end of the day. In the past we’ve shared other natural deodorant options with you, and recently we’ve discovered another to add to your list. Read More

Having an 18 month old and another on the way (I’m due May 11th!), I feel like I’ve been pregnant for the past two years. That said, I’m very selective with what I put on my skin. Clarins is a brand that I feel confident using because they’re devoted to working with plant extracts to create effective formulas. One of my new favorites is their Double Serum. It just launched in February but is 27 years in the making. Researchers had 200 different plant extracts at their fingertips and chose the 20 most powerful that work together to hydrate, protect and strengthen the skin. Green banana, burdock, kiwi, arnica and quinoa are some that made the cut. One pump distributes enough product for the entire face, and I love how the serum absorbs right in. Skin won’t feel tacky or wet — you can immediately follow with makeup or layer with a moisturizer or sunblock. Plus, its faint floral aroma is so soothing, I find myself going back for second and third sniffs. Or, maybe I should chalk that up to another weird pregnancy craving.
I’m giving 2 people the chance to win Double Serum — an $85 value! To enter to win this giveaway: comment on this post, like thebeautygirl.com on facebook or follow me on twitter and RT the message. Good luck!
Sharing a sweatshirt or oversized t-shirt with your boyfriend or hubby is fun and all, but leggings? Ladies, hold onto your favorite pants substitute because meggings (leggings for men) are hitting the streets and runways as one of the biggest new trends of the season. Squeezed into by celebrities like Justin Bieber, Russell Brand, and Lenny Kravitz, meggings appear to be making their mark on the Hollywood set. But what about real guys giving tight pants a try?
Apparently labels like Urban Outfitters and American Apparel think they should, because both stores are offering the look this season. And these bottoms aren’t reserved just for adult men. Check out this version created for baby boys by designer Little Titans. I have to say, these little ones do look adorable in their leg-wear! Only time will tell whether this fashion statement is either a ‘do’ or a major ‘don’t’ but personally, unless you’re taking the stage as a ballet dancer, acting in a Shakespearian play, or under two years old, just say no to tights, guys.
No matter your relationship status on Valentine’s Day, here are some ways to enjoy the sweetest holiday of the year.
As a child, every Valentines Day, my mom would write me a little love letter that she’d tuck into my lunch box or backpack before school. Yes, I got plenty of Valentine’s and candy grams from my classmates, but I so looked forward to finding these cute notes reminding me that I was her Valentine that day and every day! Consider writing a love letter to your child on the 14th. Even if your son or daughter hasn’t quite reached the reading stage, that’s okay. Save these notes to share with your child when they’re a little older and can appreciate them. I’m a lot older now and still have mine!
