Combat Cellulite with Wrangler’s New Jeans?

We’ve answered the question before, “Are these products too good to be true?” Now it begs to be asked again with Wrangler’s new ‘Spa Jean,’ which claims to fight cellulite! The denim brand’s new Spa line is designed with moisturizing ingredients like Olive Extract and Aloe Vera. Included in the collection is the much talked about Smooth Leg Jean that claims to fight cellulite with “caffeine, retinol and algae” packed right into the denim itself! This style was “clinically tested by the Institut Adriant in France, where after four weeks of wearing the jeans for eight hours a day, five days a week over six weeks, 69 per cent of the panel claimed that the appearance of their thighs had improved.” At $136 a pair, the style will be available on ASOS.com starting January 28. Truth be told, even if some cellulite lingers after wearing these jeans, if a little added moisturizer can make wiggling into my favorite pair of denim that much easier, I am not complaining.

Would you buy these jeans?

6 Apps To Know About

The holiday shopping season is well underway and if you’re like us you’ve got shopping carts started on a few or 12 different sites. Not ready to purchase something, but afraid we’ll forget about it, we toss it in the cart as a bookmark for later. It’s a completely unorganized and inefficient way of doing things, but just in the nick of time we’ve discovered some uber cool apps that make shopping, particularly online shopping, so much easier. And fun, if you could just fathom that. posted by Cody

Keep.com

The brand new app is similar to Pinterest, but you can shop directly on it. If you click on an item, it will take you to a link where you can buy it. Great for creating holiday shopping lists!

A Quick Fix When You Look Exhausted

When I’m on little-to-no sleep, putting on makeup is the last thing I’m in the mood to do. We’ve all been there. But, there are a few products in my stash that I can easily swipe on without paying attention, and they really make me look like I’m in a better state that I actually am. One such savior is Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder. It’s a pink, white, and lilac mosaic that brightens a tired, sallow complexion. I dab on a little concealer under my eyes and at the sides of my nose, and then give my face a generous dusting of the glowy powder. It’s not glittery like Bobbi’s Shimmer Bricks, so you can really just brush it on wherever without the fear of looking too shiny. It’s a trusty little pick-me-up for sluggish days. posted by Cody

A Wink to Eyeko Mascara

There are hundreds of mascaras launched every year and in all my time writing this blog, I’ve only introduced you to a handful. I’m selective. Well, here’s another winner. Eyeko ($19 at Sephora). It comes in two formulas — Skinny (for long and tall lashes) and Curvy (for tips that curl up to the sky). I’m a fan of the jet-black color; it leaves lashes looking like they’ve been tinted, which really brings out my blue eyes. I’ve been using the Skinny formula and am impressed by how long it makes my lashes, plus the brush disperses product evenly. If I had to compare Eyeko to one mascara, I’d say it’s somewhat similar to Blinc. Both of their formulas form a tube around lashes so no flaking or clumping occurs.

A Cute, Comfortable Hair Tie — Twistband

Twistbands are the hair tie everyone is talking about. They’re the classic example of an invention that makes you think, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Congrats to the mom who did. She realized how effectively and comfortably a soft piece of elastic trim can hold hair back. And the simplicity of this hair band has caught fire. Twistbands come in practically every color imaginable, are now available in headbands and can even be personalized with your own message. Bigger brands like Goody have even made knock offs. I do like that the Twistband won’t snag your hair, but I should mention that even though the company claims it won’t leave dents in your hair, it did leave a bend in mine after using it to secure my pony. Prices start at $2. I was excited when the company sent me a big batch of Twistbands (shown here). I’ve got one to match every outfit, and they look cute on a wrist, too.

My TODAY show segment: Modern Online Clubs

I was back at the TODAY show this week, but this time around I was on the 4th hour with Hoda and Kathie Lee. I had a blast with them and even got my own jingle! They are like the aunt or friend we’d all love to have — fun, supportive and a little bit cuckoo in the best way. Here’s the segment in case you missed it along with some behind-the-scenes photos.

Posing with Kathie Lee and Hoda. The night before the segment I stopped by the studio to set up the products with the prop stylist. Here I am sitting on the famous TODAY show couch. 30 seconds before going live. This photo was taken during our segment. Loved chatting with TODAY show style editor Bobbie Thomas.

The “IT” Skincare Product to Have

If you’re going to invest in one skincare product this season, make it a serum. It’s the hottest product right now. The benefit of a serum is that it penetrates deeper than a moisturizer and is more concentrated. It’s like the superfruit of skincare. There are all types of serums that address different skincare concerns like wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and hyperpigmentation. Here are some to consider: Read More
