Are you one of the 32 million people who has eczema? My two-year-old Rex is. He has it on his arms. If you’re wondering what this skin condition is, dermatologist Dr. Kenneth Beer explains it like this: “Eczema is an immune reaction that targets the skin. This chronic skin disorder is produced by inflammation that causes skin to become itchy, red, and dry—even cracked and leathery. Eczema can be triggered by stress, heat and sweat, sudden changes in temperature, extreme cold/dry climates, heredity, airborne/food allergens or irritants. Atopic dermatitis is the most common type of eczema and the two terms are often used interchangeably.”
Being that October is National Eczema Awareness Month, I asked Dr. Beer a few more questions about this skin condition (see below). Plus, I’m giving 2 people the chance to win the entire Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Collection.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders are flying off the shelves at Sephora—they’ve even made it to the store’s Hot Now list.
Want to see what all the excitement is about? I’m giving away the entire collection — a $270 value!
The finishing powders contain technology that either diffuses, captures or softens harsh light so it reflects off of your skin in the most flattering way. They can be used day and night and work on all skin tones.

I visited the Kryolan makeup boutique in Chicago (the other boutique is in San Fran) to learn more about the brand.
The Berlin-based company’s roots are in theater. Makeup artists have been relying on the formula’s rich pigments and textures to bring characters on stage to life. I learned that the products are sold in 85 countries and that they offer the widest range of foundations around. Who knew?!
Now Kryolan is introducing items that cater more to regular peeps like us. You’ll find all kinds of makeup from playful glitters that look like fairy dust to elegant cream shadows that are easy to wear.
Since I got to check out the brand, I wanted you to have the chance to experience the makeup as well so I’m giving away $235 worth of goodies to one lucky winner.
Here’s what’s up for grabs:
New Eyeshadow Primer (you get 2!)
Variety 18 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Iridescent (you get 2!)
New Lip Pencil (you get 2!)
New Lipstick (you get 2!)
New HD Micro Primer (1)

Last month we had our 4th annual Best Beauty Buys for Moms Event with Bump Club and Beyond, presented by Clarins, Phyto and Bath & Body Works. Moms and moms-to-be gathered at the Argent Restaurant for a night of beauty treatments (manicures, brow waxes, chair massages and micro-derm facials) powered by PrettyQuick, food, mocktails and cocktails, a presentation of my spring beauty must-haves, raffles prizes and gift bags galore. Everyone left with more than $200 worth of beauty products! To name a few: Cocktail Fragrance Bubble Bath, Jouer and Cargo lip glosses, Aveeno baby products, B. Kamins skincare, Rosebud lip salve, Bath & Body Works fragrance, Phyto hair de-frizzer, GoSwype antibacterial wipes, Clarins body oil and stretch mark control cream and the list goes on. Here are some photo highlights and a slideshow, courtesy of Tk Photography, showcasing the evening’s festivities.
