Finding “natural” deodorants that actually work can be quite the challenge. Here at The Beauty Girl, we’re all for being conscious of harsh chemicals and parabens in anti-perspirants, but not when it leaves us smelling like a gym sock at the end of the day. In the past we’ve shared other natural deodorant options
with you, and recently we’ve discovered another to add to your list. Read More
I’ve been hunkered down the past 3 weeks as we’ve welcomed our second son Jasper (Jaz) into our family. 20-month-old Rex is a proud big brother and everyone is doing great.
When it comes to beauty products, chocolate is not a new ingredient, but the Body Shop’s Chocomania Body Scrub ($14.25) really stands out as a favorite amongst all the other cocoa-scented products on the market. This scrub
is an exfoliant made to slough away dead skin and leave behind a thin protective layer of moisture. Read More

For some time now, we’ve been testing out several different hand creams
and here is another effective and affordable option we have to share. I used Curel’s Hand & Cuticle Therapy ($4.49) for three weeks and was really impressed with how well this lotion improved the look and texture of my hands. Containing Vitamin E, Soy Milk, and Monoi Oil, this cream not helps heal your skin, but simultaneously strengthens your nails. With one application in the morning, even after washing my hands, my skin remained moisturized and non-greasy. I was completely sold after seeing the visible change in my previously weak nails, which were prone to breaking. After just five days, my nails stopped splitting and the tops of my hands were no longer dry and itchy. It’s too bad I didn’t get my hands on this earlier in the winter season (literally!), but I’m thankful I have this in my arsenal for next year.

Have you ever thought about how much grime, oil, and germs are on our touch screen phones? When you think about it, and how can you not, it’s pretty gross. Especially with this horrible flu going around, if there were ever a time to be better about disinfecting your phone, this is it.
We found a simple solution: GoSwype Microfiber Cleaning Cloth
. It’s made up of an antibacterial microfiber, which unlike other cloths that just wipe away finger smudges, this one does that AND kills 98% of the bacteria like E. Coli and Salmonella. It’s $1.99 a cloth and lasts up to 200 wipes. After using the GoSwype for two weeks, I was really impressed with how clear it kept my screen, plus there was no more ick-factor when handling my phone.
