Welcome to my “trophy” room. I wouldn’t describe myself as a bragger, but there’s a time and place when modesty should be shoved in the corner, and this is one of them. After all, I want you to be impressed by my hard work. Here you’ll find the shout-outs and accolades The Beauty Girl has earned, the stories I write for other magazines and websites (my life revolves around deadlines!), my latest TV appearances, the events, parties and partnerships I’ve created, along with pretty much anything else I’ve done that toots my own horn.
P.S. Outdoor Hands is offering an exclusive 20% discount when you enter the code “windy city live.” Happy shopping!
Also, we ran out of time for my last solution (such is the reality of live TV), so if you’re in Chicago and need to book a last-minute beauty treatment like a haircut or mani, you can go to prettyquick.com. You enter the service you want and within 5 minutes they’ll send you about 10 different salons and spas that have availability, and you pick the appointment you want to book. How cool!

I was back at the TODAY show this week, but this time around I was on the 4th hour with Hoda and Kathie Lee. I had a blast with them and even got my own jingle! They are like the aunt or friend we’d all love to have — fun, supportive and a little bit cuckoo in the best way. Here’s the segment in case you missed it along with some behind-the-scenes photos.
I’m back in Chicago after a whirlwind work trip (3 cities in 3 days)! Here’s the TV segment I did this morning in St. Louis. And I had an hour to kill before my flight so I put on my tourist hat and went to the top of the arch. The structure really is breathtaking as is the view from the top. I have the photos to prove it. See below.
I’m excited to share the news that TheBeautyGirl.com has been nominated as the Best Fashion Blog 2012 in Time Out Chicago magazine’s 3rd Annual shopping Awards. Now that I’ve been nominated, my competitive juices are flowing and I’d be honored to win. I can’t do it without your help. Voting starts today and ends September 19th. Please vote for me and spread the word so hopefully your friends and your friend’s friends and so on will participate. As an incentive, Time Out will enter you to win prizes when you vote. I wouldn’t be receiving recognition if it weren’t for your support so thanks for taking me this far.
I dropped by the studio (which is surprisingly small!) the night before to deliver my props.
Getting all the beauty products in order, thanks to the wonderful prop stylist.
I had so much fun dancing on the plaza while Flo Rida performed. Definitely knocked out any jitters.
Moments before the live tease that shows viewers my segment is coming up next.
60 seconds until I go live! I always thought there would be tons of people in the studio. Actually, it was very low key. Just me, Tamron and a couple of camera guys. Amazing how quickly 4 minutes and 30 seconds goes by when you're having fun.
Did you like the segment? Is there a beauty or style segment you’d like to see on TV? I wanna know…it could end up being the topic of my next segment.
